Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Tonic |
Hello there,
Today I am writing a review of Superdrug's Naturally radiant glycolic tonic with an active ingredient of 5% Glycolic acid.
I was first drawn to this product because I was looking for something that had 5% Glycolic acid (Glycolic acid is well known for its exfoliating properties) but one that did not have hydrogenated castor oil, cult favourite Pixi Glow Tonic has hydrogenated castor oil in its formulation.
I have sensitive acne-prone oily skin, so I am very careful about using products that contain oil as I break-out and scar easily. But I had heard and read so many great things about the Pixi glow tonic and knew its active ingredient is 5% Glycolic acid,so I was on the hunt for a tonic that had 5% Glycolic acid but with no hydrogenated castor oil. Then I stumbled on the Superdrug's naturally radiant Glycolic tonic.I decided to give it a go and I bought a bottle at my local Superdrug store.
Ingredients:
Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Tonic |
The naturally radiant Glycolic tonic key ingredients are Glycolic acid,Kiwi fruits and Mulberry extracts while key ingredients in the Pixi Glow tonic are Glycolic acid,Aloe Vera and Ginseng.
Price:
Here in the UK, the Naturally Radiant Glycolic tonic is currently on offer at Superdrug for £2.95 for a 100 ml bottle although its normal retail price is £6.99 click Here for link to the product. The Pixi Glow tonic retails for £18 for a 250 ml bottle and is easily available online.
How to use:
I followed the directions for use on the bottle saying it can be used morning and evening and I did this, but it was too much for my skin, so I only use it in the evening immediately after double cleansing with a cotton pad.Put a little amount of product on a cotton pad (not cotton ball) and pat on the surface of your skin please do not wipe it across your face,it should be a patting motion (wiping across the skin will cause over exfoliation).
My verdict:
I have been using it for over a month now and the texture of my face is certainly smoother and I am really pleased with it, so it is now part of my evening skincare routine and at the price point it is also good for my wallet. But if you do not have sensitive acne-prone skin, you can try the cult favourite Pixi Glow Toni .While you are here why not check out my review of the Superdrug Vitamin E Hydrating Mist and my review of Fade Out Anti-Wrinkle Cream. Many thanks for reading my review.
Till another time, take care.
Wishing you love and light.
Ade xoxo
